^ Happy platforming leads to DEATH!!
^ Scrotum guns attack!!!
Big announcement coming today guys. Look out for it!
I’m working on it. :) It can’t be of the highest priority because I believe the games themselves should be made to work as well as possible with touch (hence no ducking or climbing ladders, two directions works a lot better than 4 or 8 on a touch screen) and it doesn’t make a big difference to how popular the game turns out, but I do hope to be able to find the time to make iCade users happy :)
I’m working on that one.
Hey, thanks for asking! Really cool to see some classic fans still around! The games from when I was a kid, I still have a few of them, for sure. I don’t put them out because, well, ya know, I was a kid, and they’re not very professional these days, but there are remakes on the cards. Hit me up at email@example.com!
Thanks so much for all of your support with AWESOME Land and MANOS: The Hands of Fate on Android. Naturally the ‘Droid version doesn’t sell as well as on iOS but the response and support has been wonderful and there’s this great sense of appreciation in the air from the Android users. I’m very grateful for it and in return for all of the support, most future FreakZone mobile games will be built for and released on both platforms simultaneously, and one or two may even come to Android first.
To cover the whole Android spectrum, AWESOME Land is now also on Kindle Fire via the Amazon app store, and MANOS will soon follow.
In the mean time, please help get MANOS on Steam by voting on our Greenlight page, we really need your vote if it’s to go anywhere near Valve’s service, and if you have a Kindle Fire, be sure to check out AWESOME Land, and MANOS will be heading your way real soon!
Open up your heart and let the Patrick Swayze Christmas in.
We’ll gather at the Road House with our next of kin.
And Santa can be our regular Saturday night thing.
We’ll decorate a barstool and gather round and sing.
Oh, let’s have a Patrick Swayze Christmas this year!
Or we’ll tear your throat out and kick you in the ear…
It’s my way or the highway, this Christmas at my bar.
I’ll have to smash your kneecaps if you bastards touch my car!
I got the word that Santa has been stealing from the till.
I think that that right jolly old elf had better make out his will!
Oh, let’s have a Patrick Swayze Christmas, one and all.
And this can be the haziest…
This can be the laziest…
This can be the Swayziest Christmas of them all!
Any USB gamepad will work, so long as it’s plugged in when you launch the game. I will probably be adding an FAQ page to the site shortly, the intent was to make it intuitive out of the box, like a NES game, but there are a few little technical things people probably want to know such as this.
It’s basically timed with the development of the Android version of the SDK (software development kit) we use, I am beta testing the SDK but there are still issues. It’s nearly bug-free now but it slows down a bit even on high end devices and people won’t take kindly to that on a NES style game, heh, so it’s pretty much going to be when the SDK is mature enough for us to be able to bring the game to Android without any disadvantages. Our other game, AWESOME Land, will appear on Android first, then MANOS.
Glad that you enjoy it! :)
If you buy MANOS, I will :P
Hello, dearest Tumblr followers! To show my appreciation for you following us, you, along with the Facebook fans, get first dibs on MANOS for Windows, before we show it to the rest of the world later today!
Thanks for all of your encouragement. Generally FreakZone has been focused on developing for iPhone and iPad, but due to the popularity of MANOS with people whose masters do not approve of such devices we’ve had a chance to branch out. If it sells, we’ll bring other games to PC, too! :)
Anyway, there is no way out of here, and it’ll be dark soon, so, go grab your copy now at manosthehandsoffate.com!
Working on it! :)
Hey guys! It’s been a little quiet here for a short while, but now we can explain why.
When everybody’s device updated to iOS6, a bug appeared in Game Center which caused landscape apps without the option for portrait UI elements would crash on login and I didn’t want to promote a game with a crash present. The crash has now been fixed and we’re submitting the update to Apple and requesting an expedited review.
Along with this crash fix we’ve also added improved controls and fixed a lot of bugs, and those who don’t have the patience for retro awesomeness can now continue the game after game over.
We’re also soon to announce our new game, and the Windows release of MANOS is scheduled for next month. Android releases of MANOS and AWESOME Land are still on the cards and Xbox Live Indie Games in the not too distant future (somewhere in time and space).
I love Tumblr because the people on here actually like and celebrate the stuff they are fans of. The rest of the internet seems to always be so angry about the stuff they claim to love.
Yes, not sure if we can get it in time for launch though.
Very kind thought! However I believe we can afford to pay for the submission :)
Some people will be experiencing a crash on iOS6 when connecting to Game Center. It’s being fixed as we speak and I’m going to try to get an expedited review from Apple so we don’t have to wait a week for them to approve the update. In the mean time you should be able to bypass the crash by disabling wi-fi, or entering airplane mode.
The PC build of MANOS is currently being developed for Steam. MANOS can’t get onto Steam however unless it receives enough votes on Greenlight, where it will be appearing soon; can I count on your votes?
The PC build is nearly done (no it isn’t flash based), we’re just looking at where to sell it. :-) Steam currently is very difficult to get onto, unless the greenlight program has been started.
Hey, followers! Sincere apologies for having been a little inactive recently! There are updates coming for MANOS, the reason we’ve been a little quiet is because we have been chatting with people involved with the original film to ensure we can keep it on the app store.
We have loved the coverage the game has received. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to actors from the film and even the folks at RiffTrax. The reviews have been a joy to read and have been as varied as they come, from perfect tens to scathing one-star eviscerations.
What’s next? Well, aside from our current projects, which you will learn about very soon, MANOS has FreakZone aiming higher. For one thing, I really want to somehow convince the folks at Cinemassacre to team up with us to create an “Angry Video Game Nerd” game in the same style, if I can just get through to them (this kind of stuff isn’t as easy as you might think, especially for indies), perhaps some sort of entertaining online campaign, Nostalgia Critic style, might be an adventure worth pursuing.
Coming soon: MANOS on other systems and more!
So how’s everybody enjoying MANOS? There’s more news to come and more games from us too!
Sorry, Nintendo aren’t very good with indie devs, we’d never get in and they’d charge us more money than the game would ever make.
MANOS has arrived on iOS (The Master approves of such devices)! Head to the iTunes store to grab your copy now!
Sounds like the perfect time to put the PC version out! :)
One more day until MANOS releases on iOS devices! How will you celebrate?
You’d need to give me contact details and that’d be fine :)
